We have been using Ranorex for automating production processes for over three years. We have many complex scripts that run daily, and even hourly. Our scripts download, process, and enter data in both web and desktop applications. They perform regular health checks on multiple systems and report their status. They allow our business folks to update large numbers of records in our ERP's clunky interface using just a spreadsheet. These are just a few of the types of processes we've automated.
My co-worker and I listened to the RPA webinar this morning, and although it did show how you could automate a simple process - downloading a file and sending an email - I can tell you from experience that there were several possible points of failure even in that simple solution. It would need to be made considerably more robust before trying to use it in a production environment on a regular basis.
Most of what we have learned about using Ranorex for process automation we've learned through trial and error. I'm sure we're not the only ones that have been using Ranorex in this way, and I think it would be great if we had a specific forum to discuss challenges and solutions involved with Ranorex and process automation. I'd like to know how other people are handling things like scheduling, reporting, and running multiple scripts at once.
Would it be possible to add a Process Automation forum here?
Could we add a Process Automation forum here?

Nice - thanks!
As I mentioned in my initial request, my co-worker, Bernie, and I have done a lot of process automation in our production system. We have scripts running on multiple VMs, controlled by a scheduler called RemoteLaunch, which is part of a test management program called SpiraTest.
We'd love to hear how others are using Ranorex for process automation, and what kind of challenges they've had to overcome (or need help with overcoming). I'm sure there are areas where our automation solutions don't conform to best practices for automation, but we do have a lot of experience to share, and we would like to learn where we can improve our techniques wherever we can.
So, anyone else out there doing process automation with Ranorex?
